Now need to reaccess my portfolio but as always allocating the time is proving difficult.Steve Cooknoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3430711467137962425.post-57664465886665215592012-03-07T02:51:17.997-08:002012-03-07T02:51:17.997-08:00Sounds like you're on track! I found that adding an extra column to the PPDP on 'actual outcomes'(suggested by my mentor) was a good way to make it clear to the assessor that the proposed actions have resulted in something concrete (ie. an improvement in your institution as a result of something you've done). I agree with you that we should go the extra mile to try to make it obvious to the assessors why every piece of evidence is there. I included a kind of cover sheet for every piece of evidence explaining why I had included it, what it demonstrated, etc. Usually this was only a sentence or two...Best of luck!Rachel Isaac-Menardhttp://writtlelibrary.wordpress.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3430711467137962425.post-5639424752395463022012-03-03T11:43:27.537-08:002012-03-03T11:43:27.537-08:00Thanks Jo!

The example of failing that we were given was of a school librarian who had included photos of children. The school had a form for parents to sign to give consent for the kids to be photographed and the photos to be used, so it was OK for her to do this - but she hadn't included a copy of the form in her portfolio so the assessor didn't know that permission had been sought.Rachel Bickleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07996702648388096936noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3430711467137962425.post-55724780092075669772012-03-03T11:32:09.035-08:002012-03-03T11:32:09.035-08:00Thanks for sharing Rachel - your enthusiasm is inf...Thanks for sharing Rachel - your enthusiasm is infectious! :)

I'm a little concerned about the point that inclusion personal data can lead to failure - if approval has been sought and you mention this in the portfolio is that OK? I am likely to want to include some snippets of conversations I have had with other people (e.g. on Twitter) so would like to be able to include that information as long as I have their permission. I know I have given permission in the past for my tweets to be used this way so presume it is still OK to do this?Jo Alcockhttp://www.joeyanne.co.uknoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3430711467137962425.post-456837375584717842012-03-03T10:01:08.124-08:002012-03-03T10:01:08.124-08:00Ooh that's definitely an idea worth considerin...Ooh that's definitely an idea worth considering I think! Like you say we'd need to give some consideration to the tech aspects. I suggested to Amy the other week that we should maybe organise an informal Chartership get-together of some kind through the CILIP branch, but maybe we could do the two together?Rachel Bickleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07996702648388096936noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3430711467137962425.post-23672183576820368942012-03-03T08:58:22.130-08:002012-03-03T08:58:22.130-08:00Glad to hear you're making progress, Rachel! I...Glad to hear you're making progress, Rachel! I am slightly anxious about how disorganised I am at the moment but reading your post has made me feel a bit better. I think I really just need a dedicated Chartership day to get my head round everything. Looking at other people's successful portfolios has definitely helped a lot though - makes it seem much more achievable. I was wondering about trying to organise some kind of Chartership portfolio session? So less formal than the actual CDG courses, just a chance to spend some dedicated time working on our portfolios and running ideas past others in the same position. I think it might be what I need for motivation! Would probably have to take place somewhere where everyone could get onto PCs, unless people have laptops... Not sure if it's a good idea or not, so let me know what you think! MeganAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
